No, you can apply for the MA Islamic Studies programme even if your undergraduate degree is in a different field, however based on your application you may be advised to take some foundation modules in Islamic studies deemed necessary.

No, it is not necessary for you to know the Arabic language, however it would be an added advantage since it would allow you to refer to the primary sources for your research and assignments.

The MA programme normally begins in October and ends in September the following year. Each academic year is divided into two semesters:

Semester 1 – October to January

Semester 2 – February to June

Dissertation Writing – July to September

At least three evenings per week for the full time programme from 6.00 pm – 9.00 pm.

Yes, submission is extendable to maximum two years after the start of the course for full time students and up to four years for part-time students.

Yes, you can change from a full-time programme to part-time programme before the end of the first semester.
