Undergraduate Degrees
This intensive course will equip students with the necessary skills required to access primary Arabic sources in order to perform their independent reading and research. Its aims are to provide students with an in-depth knowledge of classical Arabic and to train them in skills that are essential for understanding Arabic texts.
BA (Hons) Islamic Studies, validated by Middlesex University, provides you with an opportunity to study the foundation and development of Islamic knowledge from a broad and multidisciplinary perspective.
In this unique course, students gain a deep understanding of Islam within a modern framework of study. The course is consistent with the subjects taught in traditional centres of Hawza studies, such as Qum and Najaf, and incorporates some additional modules that suit the needs of Muslims living in the West.
Postgraduate Degrees
The MA in Islamic Studies aims at deepening the students’ over all understanding of Islam within historical and modern contexts while providing an opportunity to study Quran, Hadith and other Islamic texts extensively.
The MA program in Islamic Law offers comprehensive coverage of subjects in Islamic Law as well as comparative studies. It offers various choices from a wide range of modules intended to widen knowledge of major areas in Islamic law, and to deepen understanding of particular topics, methods, and concepts.

The Distance Education (DE) department at The Islamic College offers a range of postgraduate programmes via its powerful e-learning platform. These distance programmes provide students with incredible flexibility without being pressured by the time and location restrictions.

Traditional Hawza
Through the traditional teachings of the Islamic Disciplines, the Traditional Hawza Study provides students with an in depth understanding of the vast Islamic Sciences whilst also enabling them to tackle contemporary issues and challenges faced by Muslims in the West.
Saturday Pre-Hawza study has been designed to give students an opportunity to explore key concepts relating to the field of Islamic sciences.
Short Courses
This course offers an excellent opportunity to master a very important language which provides an entry into a rich and diverse culture. Since Persian has not changed significantly in over a millennium, the basic grammar for the classical and modern forms of the language is virtually the same and is relatively easy to learn. One of the benefits of learning Farsi is the ability to access a huge body of literature and sources of Islamic knowledge.
The course has three semesters which are designed to prepare students with no previous knowledge of Arabic to read and understand Quranic and classical Islamic texts.
At the end of the course, students would have developed the skills of listening, speaking, reading, and grammar. Students who successfully complete the course will be awarded an Islamic College Certificate of attendance.
