Lecturer
Applications are invited for part-time (0.5 FTE) fixed-term or Hourly paid (Visiting) at the level of Lecturer in the area of Muslim Cultural Studies. Primary tasks include teaching into the Bachelor of Islamic Studies or Bachelor of Muslim Cultures and Civilisation programmes, as well as helping develop and carry out a nationally and internationally recognised research programme.
Successful applicants would have a broad knowledge of Islamic Studies as well as specialist knowledge and experience in one or more areas. The focus of positions available would be to provide an integrated and interdisciplinary approach to Muslim Cultural studies for those interested in acquiring a critical, constructive and comprehensive understanding of issues and topics about Islam. Therefore teaching, research or work experience relevant to this is desirable. Preference is for candidates with a PhD degree in an appropriate discipline with research and publication experience in their area of expertise.
Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Translators
Freelance translators sought for an academic publishers specialising in Shi‘a Islam. The successful candidates will be required to translate manuscripts for publication. This position will suit MA and PhD students of the humanities (especially Arabic, Persian, or Islamic Studies).
Essential skills:
- Excellent command of the English language
- Good command of Arabic and Farsi
- Familiarity with academic style in the humanities and style manuals such as Oxford Style Manual
- Attention to detail
- Organisation
